Using symbols

Symbols in Diagram View can be used to represent your ideas. Symbols fall into three categories: basic shapes, art and photos. There are more than 1200 symbols available, organized into libraries that support subject-area curriculum. All symbols are accessible via the Symbol palette for easy browsing.

  • When you create a new diagram in Webspiration Classroom, a symbol appears at the center of the workspace with the title of your document. If your document is untitled, the symbol will say "Main Idea." Either way, you have the option to type over the text if you prefer something else.
  • To add another new idea quickly, click on the workspace and begin typing. A new symbol to hold your text is automatically created.
  • To move symbols around on the workspace, just click and drag them.
  • For a specific symbol from the Symbol palette, click it or just drag it onto your diagram.
  • Use the arrows at the bottom of the palette to scroll though the Symbol libraries.
