Quick Guide: Classes and Assignments
Webspiration Classroom is flexible and gives you a number of ways to share and collaborate on documents. Below is the recommended way for teachers and students to share documents that will result in the best and most streamlined use of Webspiration Classroom in a classroom setting.
Teachers:
1) Create Classes: Go to your Personal Starter Screen, then select Manage My Classes and Create New Class. Fill out the necessary information and save your class.
2) Tell your students to join your class: They will need to know the name of your class in order to join.
3) Create an Assignment: Begin by creating a new document. Then when it's ready to become an assignment, you can...
4) Post the Assignment to the appropriate Class Folder: From inside the document, go to the Classes menu (or Assignments button) and select "Post" and choose the appropriate Class. The assignment will now be located in the Class Docs tab of your Document Manager, under the corresponding class's folder. Note: Pay special attention to the name of the assignment because that assignment attribute will stay with the document, making it easy to sort students’ work in My Docs in your Document Manager.
5) Tell your students to retrieve the assignment from the <Class Name> folder in their Class Docs tab.
When students submit the assignment back to you, no matter what they name the document, it will have the assignment attribute with your original name, making it easy to find in your My Docs. Just sort by the corresponding class and assignment name.
Students:
1) Join your classes: Get the names of your classes from your teachers. Then go to your Personal Starter Screen and select Manage My Classes and select the classes you which to join and add them to your Class List.
2) Retrieve assignments: To find assignments that your teachers have posted, go to the corresponding class folders in your Class Docs. From your Document Manager, select Class Docs, then go to your class folders to retrieve your assignment.
3) Submit assignments: Once you have retrieved and completed your assignments, you can submit them to your teachers from inside the assignment by selecting the Classes Menu, then choosing the Submit option. Or select the Assignments button on your toolbar, and select Submit Assignment.
